Summer Ameen is an international award-winning photographer and filmmaker who was born and raised in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She is known for her ability to capture natural expressions in commercial and editorial work, and for her vibrant food photography. She also creates corporate documentaries with a focus on the human aspect of corporations. Her work has been published in various national and international publications and advertisement campaigns and her list of clients include BNP Paribas, The Ritz Carlton, DHL Global Logistics, Oman Arab Bank, Meem by Gulf International Bank, Viva Telecom, Al Zain Jewellery, Tamkeen, SICO Investment Bank, Seef Properties, SULB United Steel Company,  Bahrain Steel, Foulath Holding, Mahonia Fine Dining, and a variety of restaurants and companies. 

Background 

Summer left her home country at the age of 18 and lived between Canada, the UK, and the UAE for the following eight years. During this time she studied sociology and anthropology at the University of Toronto, obtained a First Class Honors B.A. in Filmmaking from Middlesex University (UK), taught filmmaking classes at SAE Institute in Dubai, took on a variety of film and video production jobs on a freelance basis, learned photography and attended workshops worldwide. She moved back to Bahrain at the age of 26 where she taught video production and photography courses at a local university and began to offer her photography services commercially. Eventually the demand for her services allowed her to become a full time photographer.
